Club History and Objectives
The Edmonton Corvette Club was incorporated
on February 17, 1979 by a group of people who wanted to enjoy themselves behind
the wheel of their cars in addition to socializing with other Corvette
owners. Several of the founding members remain active participants in the
club today.
The main objectives of the Edmonton Corvette
Club are to foster fellowship amongst Corvette owners by hosting social
activities where members can enjoy the company of people with similar
interests, to share knowledge about Corvettes, to organize shows where
Corvette owners can display their vehicles and to conduct timed events where
owners can exercise their vehicles.
Club activities can be grouped into three
areas. There are the unsanctioned completion events like the monthly fun
runs and the Challenge Cup which are open to all types of vehicles and not
just restricted to Corvettes. Then, there are the sanctioned events that, as
a member club of the Canadian Council of Corvette Clubs (Western Region),
the Edmonton Corvette Club hosts and runs with the help of volunteers from
within the club. (In addition to organizing and participating at our events,
many members travel to compete at events held by other clubs through out the
year to gather points towards Year End Trophies awarded by C.C.C.C. to top
competitors in the Concours d'Elegance, Rally and Slalom categories.) Last
but not least, there are the social activities that we conduct - the
organized or sometimes spontaneous camping trips, picnics, back yard BBQ's
and road trips all over Western Canada that club members enjoy each year.
